Proofreading of Translations Made Using Google Translate

Is machine translation the work of the devil?

Many translators think - and our office used to be one of them - that machine translation is a loophole for lazy or unambitious people who want to save time or money spent on high-quality translation.

What was it that changed our opinion about machine translation?

The turning point for me personally was when I was correcting the English-Hungarian translation of one of our students, a chemical engineer, in the field of pharmaceutics.

She was actually far from having intermediate (medium-level) language skills, and we often had to cover basic vocabulary and grammar deficiencies. However, week after week, she submitted nearly perfect translations.

When her method of translation was discussed, we discovered that she used Google Translate and these were the steps she followed:

  1. Quickly read the text to be translated and translated the titles so that she had an overview of the topic.
  2. Used Google Translate to have the text translated.
  3. Read the text to be translated and the text translated by Google Translate sentence by sentence in parallel view and compared them.
  4. When she detected something suspicious, she consulted dictionaries and professional l iterature.
  5. She checked technical terms on the Internet to make sure that they were translated  correctly by Google Translate. Pharmaceutical texts often contain a high number of long  technical terms of Latin origin, many of which cannot be found in dictionaries. Their exact  forms can be checked on the Internet.

Would you like to test the efficiency of translating by Google Translate?

1. Before you start, note the location on your computer or memory stick/external hard drive where you saved the text to be translated.

2. Then click on the blue link under the picture.

Google Translate Home

3. Click on the following link: Google Translate

4. In the field on the left, please select the language you want to have Google Translate to translate from .

5. Then in the field on the right, select the language you want the text to be translated into .

6. Then click on the Documents tab to upload the text.

7. Finally, press the button Browse your computer at the bottom on the left.

Google Translate upload file for translation

8. Now the screen displays all the files on your computer/portable data media for you to choose the one you want to be translated .

9. Select the file name, and press the Open button .

10. Now Google Translate is displayed on the screen again:

Google Translate file uploaded for translation

11. The name of the file to be translated is displayed on the left side, and there is a blue button at the bottom of the screen on the right side: Translation . If you click on this button, Google Translate will do the translation for you.

12. After a while, the machine translation will appear on the screen automatically. Do not be alarmed if some parts of the text look odd, for example, they slip over each other as if two texts were on top of each other. These errors will disappear as soon as the text is copied into a Word document. You can do this as follows:

13. Press the Ctrl key and the letter c to copy the text onto the clipboard.

14. In Word, open a new, blank document and click on it using the mouse.

15. Press the Ctrl key and the letter v to copy the text into the Word document.

16. We recommend saving the text now and noting its location.

17. As the next step, open the text you wanted to be translated, and the text already translated by Google Translate.

18. Click on the View button on the top, then on the Parallel view tab to view the two texts next to each other.

Google Translate parallel files

19. Then check carefully both texts and look up in the dictionary or on the Internet any parts you think were exchanged, distorted or mistranslated, and then make the correction.

20. As the last step, close the file to be translated and only open the text translated by Google Translate. Read the text carefully and look for any parts that are meaningless, and also look for words used incorrectly, any typos, spelling or grammatical errors (word order, conjugation, etc.).

Google Translate performs the translation on the basis of complex algorithms, which are continuously upgraded by the excellent computer programmers of Google.

Machines that use algorithms for translation, including Google Translate, analyze texts just like they would do with a mathematical formula. Therefore, it is difficult for them to detect if in a different context a synonymous word should be used instead. Not to mention the emotional context hidden behind the words and expressions, or the various stages of courtesy or formal language - that are not always perceived correctly.

The quality of translations prepared by Google Translate or other machine translations also depends on the language it was translated from and the language it was translated into. The special features of each language greatly influence the extent they can be processed by algorithms. Chinese is well known to be one of the most difficult languages - however; written Chinese can be machine-translated surprisingly well since there are no inflections in Chinese. Hungarian is an extremely difficult language in this respect as well since translator machines find it hard to identify the original words because of the high number of suffixes.

However, if you have a text to be translated from Hungarian into a foreign language, it will be naturally harder to check the accuracy of machine translation than doing the same in your mother tongue.

Not sure of the accuracy of machine translation? The stake is high do you plan to send the completed translation to an important place?

  • If your foreign language skills are lower than the proficiency level in that area, or if you have no experience in translating texts, reviewing them, or if you don’t have the time to do it, it is recommended to send the translation to us for proofreading (= checking and improving the text) before further use.
  • There may be such differences between the original and the machine-translated texts, which can only be detected by skilled translators and proofreaders with many years of experience.
  • If you choose MET Translation Office to proofread your translation, you may spare yourself a lot of inconvenience and annoyance - not to mention the costs saved.
  • The fee of proofreading - in case of a normal amount of error correction - is only 50% of the amount charged for the translation of the same text. If the text contains much fewer mistakes than the normal amount, we can also offer a lower price for proofreading.

What additional safeguards can we offer if you choose to have MET Translation Office to proofread your translation?

  • After viewing the text, we always make an offer for the proofreading in advance, which is never altered subsequently.
  • At MET Translation Office we also let our prospective customers know if the machine translation is so poor that it is more worthwhile having us translated the text than having it proofread.
  • The professional translators at MET Translation Office prepare the translations from the beginning to the end of the translation process by themselves - without the use of machine translation - followed by multiple-step, strict quality control.
  • If you have your texts proofread or translated by us, you can spare yourself the stress about the quality of the finished texts. You may use them anywhere - our translations stand up to international standards and forums as well!

So it is always worth asking for a custom quote for proofreading, which you can reach by clicking here: Request for quote

What Makes a Translation Certified?

  • An important condition is that the text should be translated by a certified, professional translator.
  • In addition to learning the foreign language, translators also learn a number of skills that are essential for a translation to be considered certified.

The Responsibility of Certified Translators and the Criteria of Certified Translations:

  • Certified or sworn translators are aware of the fact that the translation of official texts, for example, contracts, corporate documents, certificates, medical records or official letters must accurately reflect the content of the original text. They may not omit or add anything, even if, for example, they find the text of a contract too complicated, since it is not a coincidence that the lawyer wrote it in this form. This requires a high degree of humility from the translator towards both the client and the topics; therefore, translators for such tasks are selected with special care.
  • Our translators are aware of the responsibilities arising from the fact that the official texts represent great value for the clients, since - in many cases - business deals worth millions are involved in concluding a contract or signing a bank loan/opening a bank account/corporate documents submitted to the Court of Company Registration. For this reason, they pay special attention to the proper translation of not only the texts, but also of the names, addresses, figures, or identifiers included therein.
  • The same applies to translations prepared for individuals since the translation of a school certificate may affect an excellent job or further education opportunity, or an accurate translation of medical records may affect health itself, as well as the good reputation of the medical professional(s) using that translation. Our translators are fully aware of the significance of the above, therefore, there is an increased focus on accuracy in the case of such translations, and they are also revised several times before delivery.
  • Compliance with the formal requirements is an important part of official translations. We ensure that the translation matches the appearance of the original text including the structure of the text, listings, highlights, and tables. We use the latest converting program for converting certificates and other materials received in formats that are not writable (editable) documents, and in this way, we are able to keep the original layout of the document. The translation of original signatures and seals (stamps) is also included underneath.

In What Form Do We Issue the Official Translations?

  • Our official translations are accompanied with an attestation sheet (also called: translator's clause) which guarantees that the text of the translation corresponds to the original text; and it is stamped and signed as well. In case the translation is for use abroad, the attestation is written in the appropriate foreign language. Now we offer the attestation free of charge.
  • Then we print, bind, and scan the translation, the original text, and the attestation, and send them in 1 PDF file to our client. The binding cord will be shown on the side of the sheet.
  • Upon request, we also mail the translation - with priority and registered mail - the cost should be around HUF 450-650 depending on the number of pages.

Where Are Our Official Translations Accepted?

  • Our translations are always accepted abroad - from Austria through the United States and Malta to Australia - by banks, courts, embassies or other authorities.
  • In the case of use in Hungary, the authorities' positions vary. Therefore, before ordering a translation, it is necessary for you to ask about this at the place where you are going to submit the translation. This also saves time and money in some cases, since, for example, pursuant to the new Act CXXX of 2016 on Civil Procedure, in civil litigation cases it is not always required to submit a certified translation of the original documents.
  • Pursuant to Resolution No.: 24/1986 (June 26.) of the Council of Ministers, the certificates of incorporation and other company documents that we translate are accepted by the Court of Company Registration.

Please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to ensure that you can use our translation effectively: Request for Quote

  • Please note that it is NOT the delivery date of the certificate or the naturalization decision of the language exam that is considered.
  • Important! You must ask for an invoice to your own name on the language exam fee when you pay/transfer the exam fee.
  • Further good news for language learners struggling to receive their 'pending' (beragadt) diplomas : no student legal status is required to be eligible for the refund.

After a successful examination, the reimbursement (refund/payback) of the exam fee may be requested at the Hungarian State Treasury, Directorate of the Pension Fund, postal address: Budapest 1820

The form is paper-based; after printing, you should fill it in by hand.

How much can you get back from the exam fee?

  • The amount of the support is planned to be the language exam fee, but not more than 25 percent of the minimum wage effective in the specific year.

  • An accredited vantage (medium / B2) level language exam in Hungary costs about 28-35,000 Hungarian forints. Advanced level exams cost even more. So start preparing for your language exam now to take advantage of this great opportunity!

Only the fee of a successful exam may be requested to be refunded, so you should be well-prepared. We will give you all possible help to pass your language exam. DO NOT HESITATE ANY LONGER! Fill in the contact sheet below and we will call you back or write you an email.

12 Benefits of Our Translation

12 Benefits You Can Surely Expect If You Choose the Translation or Proofreading of MET Translation Office

1; Our translation will be precise and it will faithfully reflect the content of your text.

  • During the translation process, we pay special attention to transferring the exact content of the original (source language) text sent by you, as well as to maintain its original format.
  • Our aim, in case of each translation, is to transfer the content of the original (source) text to the selected target language as precisely as possible.
  • Thus, if you place the two texts next to each other and compare them, the translated text will appear like the mirrored reflection of the original one in front of you.

2; We will respect and preserve the style of the original text sent by you.

  • Besides the faithful reflection of the content of the original text, we also consider it our imperative to retain its style in the translation.
  • We also adjust the translation to the needs of your target readers so that you will be able to use it in the most effective way possible.

3; We guarantee that your text will be translated or proofread accurately and professionally.

  • We are able to achieve this by the help of our highly qualified general and professional translators.
  • MET Kft. works exclusively with knowledgeable, experienced, reliable and committed translators and proofreaders who show much greater interest in their specialist areas than the average.
  • Our translators find it natural to develop their language knowledge and terminology base, as well as the background knowledge related to their areas of expertise.

4; When we translate or proofread your text, we use all technical terms accurately and correctly.

  • In order to achieve this, in the case of each job, we find it particularly important to use the related professional vocabulary accurately, as well as to build the technical terms into the translated text in their appropriate grammatical forms.
  • We are greatly helped in this by our own systematically organized terminological database, which is based on the special areas of expertise where we translate. It was collected by us on the basis of our previous translations with consistent work for long years.
  • Besides this, we also use such internationally acknowledged and continuously developed digital dictionaries, like My Memory, Glosbe and Linguee, by which the words and expressions we search for can be seen in sample sentences.
  • By doing so, we are able to check both the meaning of the technical terms incurring during our translations and the grammatical elements that are necessary for their use in context, thus eliminating possible mistranslations and such use of the language, which may seem awkward or just ridiculous to the native speakers of the target language.
  • All of the translators we work with have to keep our basic expectation, that is, to look up each word or expression whose meaning is unknown to them or they are uncertain about.
  • Then they have to check the accurate interpretation and use of the term in context, in the relevant professional articles that are continuously issued on the internet. This allows us to renew the professional vocabulary of our translators and keep it updated on a permanent basis.

5; We update our professional background from different sources, continuously.

  • For this, we constantly monitor the changes in the professional languages that are related to the themes of our translations.
  • We read the professional literature and attend professional conferences, presentations organized by PROFORD (Hungarian Association of Professional Language Service Providers).
  • We also use webinars organized by PROZ and Kilgray, and we follow the activities of Hungarian and foreign professional forums.

6; We use modern technology, by which we can translate recurring text types consequently.

  • At MET Kft., in order to enhance the accurate and consequent use of technical terms, we use MemoQ computer-assisted translation tool.
  • Naturally, it does not do the job instead of the translator, however, it speeds up the translation process and makes it more accurate by sequencing and presenting the text in a logical layout.
  • We prepare an own terminological database (it is like an own dictionary) to each translation job by memoQ, which we carefully save.
  • Thus, when you place new orders for translation (even weeks or months later), we will be able to use those technical terms that were previously accepted and requested by you, in a consequent way.
  • It is especially helpful for the translation of the recurring text types of returning customers, e.g.: presentations, user manuals, websites, menus, letters, etc.

7; We will check your translation carefully

  • After finishing your translation, we will do Quality Control on the text by a special CAT software.
  • It filters missing or unnecessary words, as well as names and numbers that are not the same in the original text and the translation.
  • As the software corrects the text mechanically, our project manager will read the target and source texts once more in a parallel view.
  • Then, we will read the translated text once more to check its style and smoothness of the text. We are ready to rearrange some of our sentences once more to improve the smoothness of the text and/or to reflect the original intention of its author as accurately as possible.
  • Finally, we will perform a spell-check on them in order to avoid any possible mistranslation or a typo.
  • If we translate your text, there will be no need for proofreading (correction). You will be able to use the translation and publish it even abroad.

8; We are quick and always meet deadlines.

  • As our fast-moving, modern world – especially the business sector – demands all jobs to be completed quickly and punctually by their deadlines.
  • We only charge extra for urgent translations to be done within 24 hours and we undertake translation jobs for weekends as well.
  • We guarantee that during our agreement with you on the details of the translation job, we only accept such deadlines, which we can reconcile with keeping our quality standards.
  • We always meet the deadlines we have undertaken.

9; We offer favorable prices and further discounts.

  • We have a simple office with low maintenance costs, and our work processes are effective, and thus, we are able to keep our prices low.
  • Even before starting the translation, we will provide you with the exact amount of our translation fee based on the number of characters in the source (original) text, without space.
  • In this way, you cannot be affected by any unpleasant surprises when you receive our translation.
  • Our translation fee is calculated without space by which you can save about 20% of the price.
  • Our company is exempted from the VAT so this tax will not be added to the translation fee.
  • We can prepare the statistics of your text by MemoQ CAT software, by which we are able to provide a substantial discount on repeatedly used words.
  • In case there are repetitions in the text, you will not need to delete them before the translation and insert them back into the translated texts one by one. We will take over this tedious and monotonous job!
  • Upon request, after starting the translation, we will send you the first page in advance so that you can check the excellent quality of our translation.
  • For proofreading, we charge only 50% of the amount, which the translation of the same text would cost.

10; We translate difficult file formats - PDF, TIF, JPG, Mp3, Mp4 - and photos of texts without any extra charge, e.g.:

  • PDF: company and judicial documents, presentations, tables,  graphs, etc.
  • PDF, TIF: operating instructions, user guides or instruction manuals
  • JPG: documents saved in JPG and photographed texts
  • To be able to measure the length of your text, we will convert the non-editable file before sending you the quotation, free of charge.
  • In case you need the translation of any other specific file format, we are open to the management of that as well.
  • Instead of retaining the original format of your text, you can also order the translation in any other target format selected by you.
  • We are able to offer this to all of our clients as a free service.

11; You can order the proofreading of a text written in a foreign language or translated by someone else.

  • This service can be useful if you are not completely sure whether the grammar and wording of the text are accurate and its style is appropriate to your targeted readers.
  • In such cases, we look up the rarely used words in the dictionary again and we also check them in their context on the internet to see if they are still used actively.
  • If the text is of special importance, you can also request a native speaker to do the proofreading for you.
  • For proofreading, we charge only 50% of the amount which the translation of the same text would cost.

12; We will treat your text, translation and all personal information confidentially.

  • At MET Kft., we undertake that we treat all information we learn about confidentially. The text received from you will be handled with complete confidentiality.
  • If you request, we will send a signed and stamped copy of our Confidentiality Agreement before you request for a quote. We can offer this as a free service.
  • Naturally, we conclude a Confidentiality Agreement with each of our translators.
  • We only work with such colleagues, who are reliable and trustworthy, and thus, besides their professional aptitude and more thousand translated pages’ experience, they are able to meet the requirements of our clients in this field as well.

If you have a text to be translated or proofread, please do not hesitate to contact us by filling in the form below.

Advantages of Online Language Learning

1. What are the benefits of receiving teaching materials online?

  • In the case of online language learning, we can send all learning materials (student's book, workbook, audio, video or any other additional language teaching materials) in PDF format by email or via Skype / Face Time / Viber.
  • According to the feedback of our previous students, this saved them a lot of time and money.

2. The advantages of using new technology for language learning:

  • The advantages of online learning: student's books, workbooks, and supplementary teaching materials are not only available on paper, but they can also be viewed digitally on the student’s own screen.
  • In order to further practice difficult parts, we can send additional materials immediately. Students can open them at once, or save them for later use.

3. How can you do the listening tasks online?

  • Practicing listening comprehension to understand spoken language is a priority, especially in the case of learning English.
  • Understanding what the other person says is necessary not only during the language exam but in real life as well.
  • Without understanding, the conversation is stuck at the beginning, and there will be no successful communication.
  • During the traditional way of language teaching, the teacher and the student are seated facing each other. So the student needs to travel to the place of teaching.
  • However, in the case of online learning, the teacher uses Skype to send the most important new words and the tasks to the student before completing the exercises. This saves a lot of time and money and prevents being stressed.
  • Before listening, the student can discuss the meanings of new words and practice saying them loudly with the teacher.
  • The student is seated in front of his/her own computer at home, reading the exercise, e.g. questions/test/matching/gap-filling/sentence completion, and then takes notes while the teacher plays the material by one of these 5 methods:

Method 1: the teacher places the tape recorder or CD player near the microphone of the computer/laptop/tablet/mobile phone.

Method 2: the teacher uses a computer/laptop to play a CD or the audio file stored on a memory stick.

Method 3: in case a tablet or mobile phone is used, the teacher plays the audio files preloaded in the cloud.

Method 4:  the teacher sends the audio file to the student via Skype, who then plays it, while the teacher is also listening.

Method 5:  if there is interference in the line, and the voice is distorted, the teacher will send the audio file to the student via Skype (to save time this is usually done before the lesson). The student downloads it, stops the Skype conversation with the teacher and listens to the audio file alone - completing the exercise in the meantime. Finally, the student calls the teacher again to check the result.

At the end of all four methods, they check the solutions and evaluate the result.

What types of listenings do we use for language teaching?

  • Besides the listenings in the coursebooks and workbooks, we use advertisements, news, stories, and interviews from the internet. Advertisements are especially useful for beginners, as they are short and contain a lot of words and expressions used in everyday life.
  • We can also listen to and do exercises with songs and their lyrics , which may be chosen by the student.
  • If the student prepares for a language exam, we practice with the listening tasks of previous exams .

4. How can you watch a video during an online lesson?

1. The teacher sends the film to the language learner via Skype / Face Time / Viber before the lesson.

2. Then, the student is sent all possible new words and expressions from the film.

3. This is followed by discussing their meanings, synonyms, and antonyms with the teacher.

4. After, the student has the opportunity to practice their pronunciation with the teacher.

5. The teacher also sends the exercises related to the film, for example, questions, sentences to be completed, words and phrases to be matched. The student can read these silently before watching the video.

6. The teacher informs the student in advance about the number of minutes they are going to watch.

7. The student and teacher start the film at the same time, but the teacher turns the volume off on his/her own device to avoid disturbing the student.

8. If necessary, they repeatedly watch the part while the student is filling in the exercises.

9. Then, they check the answers with the teacher.

10. After this, they go on to the next part of the film, sometimes using other types of exercises so that it does not become boring for the student.

A further benefit of online learning is that the film is not retained (kept) by the teacher, so the student can watch it again at any time after the lesson. He/she can even download the exercises again, and repeatedly fill them in using the exercises completed during the lesson as a key.

What kinds of films do we watch and practice for the purpose of language learning?

Just a few of the many examples:

  • the oral parts of language exams,
  • presentations e.g.: from TED talks,
  • interviews,
  • documentaries,
  • advertisements,
  • any other good ideas from students.

Advertisements are especially useful for beginners as they are short and contain a lot of words and expressions used in everyday life.

We also use films that are connected to the purpose, studies, or work of the language learner, f or example, films related to business, economics, architecture, HVAC, environmental protection, etc.

We are ready to develop any topic that helps the language learner achieve his/her desired goals.

IV. Learning new words and expressions online is more effective than in the traditional way.

  • During the language lesson, the teacher sends the new vocabulary of listenings or readings online.
  • The teacher writes all other new words that come up during the lesson with their meanings into Skype / Face Time / Viber.
  • The student can copy these from there after the lesson.
  • The words are kept by Skype / Face Time / Viber so they can be revised or asked during the next online lesson.

If you feel like trying online language learning, fill in the Contact Form below, and we will call you or write you an email.

ABOUT TRANSLATING CONTRACTS

WHAT TYPES OF CONTRACTS CAN YOU ORDER FROM US TO BE TRANSLATED?

We are prepared to translate all kinds of agreements, including

  • contracts of gifts, birth and marriage certificates, child custody agreements,
  • sale and purchase contracts, escrow agreements, lease contracts, loan agreements,
  • articles of association, business agreements, subcontracts, agency contracts, employment contracts,
  • service agreements, distribution or agency contracts,
  • design and construction contracts and
  • non-disclosure agreements.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN REQUIREMENTS OF TRANSLATING CONTRACTS?

  • Precision
  • Professionalism
  • Confidentiality

PRECISION ABOVE ALL!

  • Precise translation is fully guaranteed by our qualified and experienced translators who have proved their aptitude and conscientiousness during long years of collaboration with us.
  • This is complemented by our quality control process, where a CAT software is used for checking the complete and accurate translation of all data and terms used in the text, as well as for screening any spelling errors.
  • The software performs the checking mechanically, so its work is followed by the proofreading of an experienced and reliable project manager.
  • We also pay attention to maintaining the structure and the layout of the original contract, including the numbering of the paragraphs as well.

ON THE CORRECT TRANSLATION OF NUMBERS AND DATES

  • When translating contracts, we pay particular attention to the exact translation of dates, since these are different in each language. In this case, as well, accuracy and clarity are our main guiding principles.
  • For example, if the date format in a Hungarian text is: 2018.03.10., then it is translated into English as follows: 10 March 2018
  • This format ensures that the date is equally clear for readers using British English and American English as well.
  • Numbers also require a lot of attention, for example, in sale and purchase, or in lease contracts.
  • In these cases, we also pay attention to the characteristics of each language, as well as to seemingly tiny details.
  • These are very important for the content of the contract, for example, the reverse use of commas and full stops in English and in Hungarian.

NAMES, TITLES AND STAMPS (SEALS) IN THE TRANSLATION

  • We pay particular attention to writing names - including signatures - accurately.
  • Titles and positions attached to the signatures are also checked on the Internet.
  • We always adapt to the traditions of the target language.
  • The texts inside the stamps at the end of contracts are also translated.
  • The exact names and addresses of companies or institutions included in the stamps are always checked on the Internet.
  • The translations of stamps are added in italics and in the same colour as the stamps in the original text to ensure their being separated from the rest of the text.

HOW DOES MET TRANSLATION OFFICE ENSURE THAT CONTRACTS ARE TRANSLATED AS PROFESSIONALLY AS POSSIBLE?

  • The translation of contracts is only assigned to translators who have the appropriate professional qualifications and many years of experience in the translation of various agreements.
  • These texts are full of complex expressions that are embedded in the language, so they cannot be pasted together word by word from a dictionary.
  • In addition, legal texts are not translated mechanically or in a superficial manner, but they are interpreted in-depth, and translated by following the inner logic of the texts.
  • Our translators were trained in legal terminology together with lawyers, at universities abroad, and perfected their skills by working in law offices.
  • Therefore, they are aware of different legal terminologies resulting from various legal systems and legal cultures.

HOW DO WE GUARANTEE COMPLETE CONFIDENTIALITY?

  1. In the course of translating contracts, maintaining strict confidentiality of personal and corporate data is a priority.
  2. At MET Translation Office, we achieve this by deleting such data from the texts before sending them to the translators, and their places are indicated by dots in a different colour, or alphabetical codes are used.
  3. Not only names are deleted, but also such data, which are suitable for identifying persons or businesses, for example, home address,  registered address, tax registration/VAT number, etc.
  4. In case of sale and purchase contracts, in addition to the data of the seller and the buyer, information (e.g. cadastral number, address) on the movable asset or property - which is the subject of the purchase - are also treated confidentially.
  5. Then the project manager performing quality control inserts the previously deleted data into the finished translation of the text, and makes modifications to the word order, or other grammatical structures, if necessary.
  6. Coloured markings help to ensure that no data is omitted accidentally.

IN WHAT FORMAT WILL YOU RECEIVE THE PROFESSIONAL LEGAL TRANSLATION OF YOUR CONTRACT?

  • At MET Translation Office, we will prepare the translation in the same format as the original contract. We pay particular attention to ensure that the numbered paragraphs match the original.
  • We are also prepared to provide bilingual or multilingual translations. We have experience in preparing bilingual sale and purchase or supply contracts, for example, from Hungarian into English, and from English into Hungarian.
  • In such a case - on the specific request of our customer - the translation is provided in a two-column format. You will have the original text and its corresponding translation side by side.
  • At MET Translation Office, this service is free, but please indicate your request when ordering the translation.
  • We have also translated existing bilingual contracts to a third language (Romanian-Hungarian-English). In such a case, the translation is prepared in a three-column format.

Advantages of Our Language Exam Preparation

We are effective.

  • At MET Kft. our goal is to ensure that language learners with different capabilities or busy lifestyles can pass any accredited state language exam of their choice within the shortest possible period.
  • A major acknowledgment for us is that during the training, the majority of our students get a feel for language learning, and they return to us later for a different type of language course, for example, business or professional language training; and what’s more, they also recommend the services of MET Kft. to their friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.
  • Our teachers have extensive experience in the field of preparing students for language exams - many of them are examiners at different language exams. Therefore, the chances of passing the exam can be further increased with some practical tips that are not included in the textbooks. Based on the feedback from our examinees, these tips on the language exams often brought them such extra points, which actually decided the result of the exam.
  • Our effective training via Skype is recommended to our future students who are busy, travel a lot, and live in the countryside or abroad.

We ensure extensive training for each exam section.

  • At MET Kft. the first step in the process of preparing you for the exam is that after a short discussion, we assess and evaluate the current level of your knowledge. When discussing the results, we highlight your strengths, which will help you receive as many points as possible at the language exam. We also explore any incomplete knowledge that needs to be improved in order to fulfill the minimum level required to pass the exam in these areas as well. This service is provided free of charge for our language learners.
  • Then, we listen to your needs and help you choose the language exam type that best matches your knowledge and personality, and therefore the one with the highest chance to be passed within the shortest possible period. If you have already decided which exam to take, or your educational institution or place of work accepts only a certain exam, we will naturally adapt to it.
  • The next step is that we consult with you on each part of the exam, the available time frame, and the technical conditions. We highlight all characteristics and necessary skills that examiners usually pay special attention to.
  • For example, during a presentation or describing a picture they mainly evaluate continuous speech, and whether the candidate uses enough conjunctions, or whether the story/presentation is easy to follow.
  • In the case of written tasks, points are scored for the content of the letter/story, for correct grammar, and for the cohesive (linking) elements included in the text; therefore, it is important to use conjunctions (linking words like and, but, however, at first, later, suddenly, finally, in summary etc.) frequently and in a sophisticated way, even at beginner or intermediate level.
  • Then, practicing each test part is scheduled as best suited for your individual needs.  Meanwhile, we continuously pay attention to the aspects and time limits of real exams.
  • For this, we also ensure that the necessary amount of test sheets are filled in and exercises solved, which are then evaluated professionally. Those grammar structures and vocabulary parts that still cause problems are further explained and practiced.

Our examination candidates are provided with these additional materials free of charge.

  • Based on many years of experience as examiners, we can also provide tips on how to use the time frame available for each exam task as efficiently as possible.
  • In addition to textbooks preparing students for language exams, we also use the actual exam exercises from previous years, as well as our audio collection during the language exam preparation.
  • If you already have textbooks or exercises that you like to use for studying, we are ready to use them during the training.
  • We offer you tips and advice on what materials you can listen to or watch in your free time, e.g. CD, DVD, foreign radio stations, YouTube, TED, or various TV channels to ensure that you will score more points at the listening comprehension section.
  • In addition to the written exam, we also offer in-depth training for the oral exam that is based on real exam tasks. Using the video materials of MET Kft. we have collected over many years - which are regularly updated and developed - we analyze the exams and then, purposefully develop the skills and techniques needed to successfully pass the exam.

We are examiners as well, so we can offer you a lot of tips to earn extra points in the language exam.

  • At MET Kft. we prepare you to be able to answer standard questions asked at language exams in a way that feels spontaneous but is actually carefully rehearsed. These responses will contain the vocabulary and grammar that are appropriate for the level of the selected language exam.
  • We also offer a way to ask the examiner diplomatically in case there was something you could not understand at first.
  • We practice storytelling, picture description - presentation in case of business language exams - and situational exercises; and evaluate them in accordance with the criteria used at real exams. Special emphasis is placed on learning the communication terms necessary for this latter one. We provide our collection of typical words and expressions for the language exam free of charge.
  • An important part of modern language exams is a debate between examinees on a given topic. So we also present the necessary argumentation techniques and phrases and then practice them thoroughly.
  • Our goal is to ensure that the candidates familiarize with the exam tasks as thoroughly as possible, practice them focusing on speech, and learn the corresponding exam technique successfully - so that the candidate can have the best chance to pass the language exam at the first try.
  • At MET we find it highly important - in addition to learning the language - to prepare the candidate for dealing with exam stress. For this purpose, we organize free trial (mock) exams to ensure that candidates will gain experience in taking the exam, in addition to the knowledge of the language itself.

Human Factors Guaranteeing Confidentiality

  • The educational background of our professional translators covers legal studies as well. Accordingly, they are fully aware that translation is a responsible business. Therefore, the content of the texts supplied to us by our clients is of particular importance to them, too.
  • When translating private letters, medical records and other medical documents, civil litigation and other legal documents, certificates, school certificates, contracts, corporate accounts, agreements, court of registration documents, product specifications, technical tests, etc.
  • It is equally important to prevent that their content - with particular regard to the contained personal and corporate data - is disclosed to unauthorized third persons.
  • In the case of certain texts, such as marketing materials (websites, Facebook and blog posts), technical materials (in particular patents), tender applications, or articles, the texts would lose their value if any content was leaked during translation.
  • Such an event would cause considerable material, moral, and prestige loss for our customers, or would damage their business reputation - therefore, our translators take their confidentiality obligation very seriously and adhere to it to the maximum.
